Baseball Season has begun

Baseball Season has begun and that means we are at the field 2-3 nights a week. Walter loves it and is doing so great this year. This season they have chosen minor league teams for the team names and Walter is playing for the Portland Sea Dogs. He is in Advanced Machine Pitch and has a great coach who really encourages him to do his best. He is tough on the boys but is always cheering them on and encouraging when they do something great.

Here is the first game of the season!!

I love seeing our last name on the back of the jersey!

Remembering 9/11

As the kids get older, I feel like it is important for them to know the history of the events that have happened in my lifetime that will affect them in theirs. 9/11 happened right after Walter and I got married and things changed like we never imagined. To our kids, this is just the way it is, they don't know any different. They don't know that you use to be able to just walk onto the plane with out security checks. People use to feel safe. Life was easier. Now because the United States was under attack, life is how it is.
The kids have been to the 9/11 Memorial in NYC and have talked about the attacks in school and we have prayed for those affected.
Our town put on this memorial beside the Fire Department this year and the kids and I went to pay our respects after school. Walter didn't want his picture taken. He was very somber and read everything they had. Ann Elizabeth is very interested as well but wanted to leave her mark.
They prayed for all those involved before we left. It was a great moment.

Baseball..Charlotte Knights

We were able to go to a Knights game with Walters office. It was the first time we had ever been to the new stadium uptown and it was amazing!

The views of the city are awesome....like your sitting directly in the middle of uptown!

We say with our sweet friends Tricia and Curt Curtis and their sweet girls. My kids were totally entertained between sweet friends and the game!

We also ran into Mrs. Hughes, our piano teacher, who was at the game with her husband. She came down and sat down with us for a while and chatted with the kids!

We love a good summer night with sweet friends! Great way to end the summer!

Moms Birthday

Moms birthday was on the 7th and due to everyone's busy schedules we celebrated on Saturday night. We took mom to The Melting Pot for the first time and it was amazing!
We had way to much food but our favorite was the cheese and chocolate! Mom and I decided we can skip the meat portion and have the cheese them go straight to the chocolate! It was delicious!!!

Church Camp for AE

As soon as we got home from our cruise it was time to send AE off to church camp. We packed before we left for vacation so she was ready to go when we go home. One night in her own bed and she was back out the door for a week.

She attended Carmel's church camp last year and loved it and has talked about it since she got home last year. She loves a sleep-away camp and could stay for 2 weeks if it was available.

The went to Look Up Lodge this year in Traveler's Rest, SC again, but the theme this year was Genesis U. They had it set up like a college where you sign up for electives and "graduate" from those classes. She was so excited and she did amazing in all her electives. She took, basketball (one of the only girls), archery and apologetics (she scored the highest in her class).

We missed her terribly. She was sad to come home and said that if she could have seen us one time she would have stayed another week.

Love my girl and her adventurous spirit. Carmel is the best and we can't wait for next year...Walter gets to go too!

Nashville, TN with friends

This last week the kids and I drove to Nashville. Holly and her kids were stayig the week with her parents in Brentwood so we tagged along. We were dying to see them and it was a good chance to check on our house. Walter flew up on Thursday night so we has Monday-Thursday with Holly and the kids.
We swam in her parents pool, shopped, ate at Pucketts and Sweet CeeCees, went to the adventure science center and had a hotdog roast with s'mores.
Our kids haven't been together, all of then, in probably 4 years. It was great! They all got along so well and played like they hasn't skipped a beat. They have been friends since Ann Elizabeth and Jack were 2, so I guess that helps.

We also were able to spend some time with our dear friends Rachel and Darren overt the weekend. We stayed downtownThursday  and Friday night but then hung out at their house on Saturday and Sunday before headed home.
The are great friends that we feel like were placed in our life for a reason. One thing that made it so hard leaving Nashville 5yrs ago was leaving them. Our friendship was super strong. The husbands, wives and kids all are friends and it's super easy. No effort needed to keep it up.

I thought that going back this time would be closure for Walter and I with the house and not being there. Nope! I miss that place! I miss our friends and the city along with our church. The house isn't a big deal and I am not dying to live there, I'm just sad we don't live in Nashville anymore.
I am ready for us to settle down and know that know matter what we are going to stay in X city. I'm tired of moving and tired of waiting for the next thing with the company...for then to tell is where we are going. I'm ready for us to choose our forever city!
Lots of prayer and talking between Walter and I need to happen before we get there. I just want Gods will for our family and for us to follow what and where he wants us! It's so hard being patient!
