Nashville, TN with friends

This last week the kids and I drove to Nashville. Holly and her kids were stayig the week with her parents in Brentwood so we tagged along. We were dying to see them and it was a good chance to check on our house. Walter flew up on Thursday night so we has Monday-Thursday with Holly and the kids.
We swam in her parents pool, shopped, ate at Pucketts and Sweet CeeCees, went to the adventure science center and had a hotdog roast with s'mores.
Our kids haven't been together, all of then, in probably 4 years. It was great! They all got along so well and played like they hasn't skipped a beat. They have been friends since Ann Elizabeth and Jack were 2, so I guess that helps.

We also were able to spend some time with our dear friends Rachel and Darren overt the weekend. We stayed downtownThursday  and Friday night but then hung out at their house on Saturday and Sunday before headed home.
The are great friends that we feel like were placed in our life for a reason. One thing that made it so hard leaving Nashville 5yrs ago was leaving them. Our friendship was super strong. The husbands, wives and kids all are friends and it's super easy. No effort needed to keep it up.

I thought that going back this time would be closure for Walter and I with the house and not being there. Nope! I miss that place! I miss our friends and the city along with our church. The house isn't a big deal and I am not dying to live there, I'm just sad we don't live in Nashville anymore.
I am ready for us to settle down and know that know matter what we are going to stay in X city. I'm tired of moving and tired of waiting for the next thing with the company...for then to tell is where we are going. I'm ready for us to choose our forever city!
Lots of prayer and talking between Walter and I need to happen before we get there. I just want Gods will for our family and for us to follow what and where he wants us! It's so hard being patient!

Beach Trip with Friends to DeBordieu

My sweet friend Christie asked the kids and I to go to the beach for a week with her to her families condo at DeBordieu. It was by far the best beach trip we have taken in a long time. We went sans men and it was just girls and the kids. Julie, Christie's SIL also went and she was so much fun!

Our week consisted of biking everyday, hunting for alligators, beach, pool and more beach and pool.
Our kids all got along so well and it was very relaxing.
Good friends are hard to come by, especially when your kids get along so well. We all had a blast and can't wait to do it again!

Father's Day 2014

Father's Day this year was a lot like Mother's Day. We celebrated separately with our Dads and got to spend special one on one time with each one of them. Walter was supposed to travel the night of Father's Day so he and the kids spent the weekend before Father's Day in Atlanta with Papa doing lots of playing and shopping (that of which I am sure Papa was thrilled about). The kids loved being in Atlanta and being around Papa celebrating him.

Walter's plans ended up changing so he was able to be with us all day on Father's Day. The weekend was great. We went to the pool on Saturday and then lunch on Sunday with my Dad and then we all went to the lake.

Ann Elizabeth made a Hummingbird Cake from scratch for Walter, Boppy and Uncle Jon. It was delicious. We took it to the lake with us and enjoyed it on the boat.

I loved being able to celebrate my Dad and my hubby. Both are the most important men in my life and I love them to death.
I am so thankful for a great role model such as my dad and a wonderful role model for my kids...Walter.
