4th of July!

4th of July was so much fun. We spent the weekend at the lake with friends and then went to a family cookout in Clover with my Mom's extended family that they have every year. It was great seeing cousins from near and far and the kids loved swimming in Uncle Jack's swimming pool.

A Walker visit

Our great friends The Walkers came to visit us this week. We love Melody and the children so much. They are so special to us. Melody and I met when Ann Elizabeth and her Noah were only 18months old in Gymboree. Ann Elizabeth was smitten right away with Noah and always wanted to be near him and love on him. Since then we have added 3 children to our friendship and we have moved twice, but still remain close friends.
Melody brought the kids up to spend a few days with us and we wore them out. Between Carowinds, the water park and playing outside the kids had a blast. We had so much fun spending time with our life-long friends!

Father's Day

Father's Day this year was lots of fun. We spent the day at the lake with my parents. We started with lunch at Tbones and then to the boat we headed. Walter enjoyed being with the kids and I enjoyed having my Dad with us. Swimming, fishing and relaxing...what else could a Dad want on Father's Day?!

I am so thankul to have these 2 men in my life. Walter is the best husband and father to our children. He is so patient and kind and never lets anything bother him. He is so calm and knows exactally how to talk to the children when they are upset. He loves with all of his heart and adores me and the children. He loves God and really tries to instill that into our kids. I love this man!!!

My Dad is a rock as well. He is so strong and so encouraging. He has always been there for us when we neeed him and stands strong no matter what.

Strawberry Picking

The week after school was out we planned out first Summer activity. We went strawberry picking. We try to go every year and I think have only missed one year since the kids were little. We went to our favorite farm over near Ballantyne, Hall Family Farms. Little did I know that the family that ownes it, we know from our old church Harrison United Methodist. Lara and her family run this farm and they have the sweetest strawberries. The kids picked lots so we were able to eat some plain and the rest we made into chocolate covered strawberries. They were all sooo good!

Ann Elizabeth's first Swim Meet

Last night Ann Elizabeth had her first swim meet. She swam the back stroke and freestyle and did great. She was really excited. She came in 3rd in both of her heats. Se has been practicing 4 days a week and will have 2 meets a week. We have another one on Thursday and she can't wait to swim again. A little cute comment...when she was done, all she wanted to know is if she beat someone..she didn't care that she wasn't first, she just didn't want to be last. Love her!!!

Our Princess is now a child of The King!

On Sunday June 5, 2011 Ann Elizabeth publicly proclaimed that she had accepted Christ as her savior and as baptized. We were all so happy that it was a celebration for sure. We invited all of our closest friends and family to join us at church. I was able to be back with her in the baptistery, but we had lots of friends and family standing in support of her during her baptism. It was such an amazing this to watch...to see our precious little girl made a commitment and then be so adamant about being baptized. This was something that I had prayed for since she was little. That she would come to know Christ and have a relationship with him.
Afterwards, our friends and family joined us at our home for a Moe's lunch...and it was yummy. Ann Elizabeth's first grade teacher was here and lots of our friends from church. We didn't taken many pictures, I think we were all a little to overwhelmed. Thank goodness the church has a photographer. He took some before she was baptized and during and we will get those in the mail.

Praise The Lord...our prayers have once again been answered!

Spike Hair for the little Man!

Walter got his hair cut the other day...nice and short for summer. When he climbed up in the chair he told the stylist that he wanted a mohawk. She quickly turned to me and I said just shape it up nice and short. As soon as Walter got down he ask me if I could spike his hair. I told him I would tomorrow....well...first thing the next morning he was in my bathroom asking me. So, we did....and it was precious. He now has his own "spike glue".

Florence Nightingale

In 1st grade this year, Ann Elizabeth had to choose a famous American and dress up like her and present to the class on her. What was his/her contribution to history? Why is she famous? Why did you choose her, etc?
Ann Elizabeth did a fabulous job on Florence Nightingale. She wore my nursing school uniform and we accessorised with a nurses cap, a stethoscope and the Florence Nightingale lamp. She was so excited and did a fabulous job!

Spring Parties at School & Easter!!

Spring has sprung around here. Walter and Ann Elizabeth both had spring parties before spring break. We read a story in both, The Legend of the Easter Egg and The Legend of the Sand Dollar.

Being able to help in both of the classes and be a part of all the parties is priceless and I wouldn't miss it. We get to reinforce the real meaning of Easter through the stories and the craft-salvation bracelet. It was priceless.

(I am missing pictures from Ann Elizabeth's class, but it was just as mch fun as Walter's)

Easter followed the week after the kids parties at school and we spent it this year with Gram & Papa in Atlanta. The kids were happy to be there and super exctied to know that the Easter Bunny could find them in Atlanta. We dyed eggs the night before and then went to church on Sunday followed by an egg hunt in Grams yard...with "lucky" eggs to be found!
